LONGMONT – Fire crews quickly extinguished a brush fire on Monday afternoon that broke out in the rural part of Longmont, a reminder that Colorado is drying out.

The Mountain View Fire Department responded to the brush fire near Highway 287 and Highway 52 around 4:20 p.m.

yesterday was spent watching the men and women bike races. i toted my camera around for the whole women's crit, but failed to take a photo. i think i was too busy yelling at my teammates to attack!

someone's so excited to turn 31 today. to celebrate he drove 2 hours east to do a bike race in raging wind and spitting snow.

yesterday becky, baby in utero, and i took a hike up the viewpoint trail in boulder. look at that seven month pooch! didn't know it was that obvious...i've been trying to avoid cameras at all costs for the past couple of weeks.

then today chellie, ruby, baby in utero, and i woke up early to hit the recently burned settlers park trails. this is a pic right after chellie (the dog owner) made ruby (the poop eater) show off with some roll over and play dead tricks in a bunch of cacti.

everyone send good thoughts timmy's way. one of the nicest, most down to earth, guys in professional bike racing had a high speed crash at tour de georgia yesterday. updates can be found here on his website.

hmmm, front page news - 4/20 and a brush fire in boulder's foothills. i'm no sherlock holmes, but something seems real fishy.

this morning erin, clay, jon and i got up at the butt crack of dawn to hit breadworks (best breakfast deal in boulder) and vics (where the line is always too long).

and yes, clay is really tall... i think he is pushing 6'5" with danskos add 2".

in this action shot erin impresses us with her mach speed. the key here is flapping your arms as you run super fast and the radar should pick it up.

we were graced with the presence of clay, erin, tiff's mom, and tiff this weekend. (all visiting from other states). here they are squished on an oversize blue couch eating some delicious pot luck dinner.

later tiff threw up. i'm hoping it wasn't my homemade (read as: bought at whole foods) pasta salad.

you know jon is excited about the new baby coming when he assembles the crib in such a timely manner. meanwhile his new eddy merckx team frame still sits unbuilt in the garage. poor eddy is taking a backseat to baby t.

thumbing through old scrapbooks at home last week i came across this gem of a pic. this is quite possibly the ugliest dress i have ever worn. the billowy sleeve cinderella look may be a worse fashion trend than the rattail.

stupid me, i came home from birthing class and hopped on the internet around 9:45 p.m. i noticed someone had left a comment on the biggest loser post, and i clicked on it. winner revealed... dang it.

set your tivos, break out the spoon and nutella... biggest loser finale tonight. tivo comes in really handy when they cut to a commercial after every weigh in and recap the entire season.

after a 5 hour delay we made it home on the bankrupt frontier airlines. i was expecting a fly free voucher, but we were only rewarded with an empty row (since everyone else took other flights) and free t.v.

my official shopping sherpa, mimi fisk. she packed me little snacks of watermelon, sprite and string cheese and then insisted on carrying all my bags.

visiting houston one last time before i am not allowed to fly cause i won't fit in the seat and you're not supposed to fly something like 32ish weeks into the preggoness, i think, don't quote me on that.

i presented griffin and gracen with the two free barbie watches i got inside our mini frosted wheats. also, griffin got a sweet shreck hat where jon and i consumed and collected 5 mini frosted wheat tokens (off the box) and sent in for it. we love mini frosted wheats. good source of fiber and tasty too.

yesterday was a fun-filled day of signing people up for their aca annual license and getting a nice wind burn during the famed koppencrap. thankfully i brought the zero gravity and i was comfy as a whale. (here's my lafuma zero gravity plug... these things are worth the coin you throw into them, don't be fooled by target/walmart look a like brands, they just aren't the same.)

as many of you know, i absolutely HATE pinning numbers. therefore, i made up a little sign and tried to pay off the lafuma chair. no one took the bait, but i was fine with that.

sparky attacking chellie (eventual winner and coincidentally a superb cook) on the climb. i was so impressed by sparky's riding, she HATES dirt just about as much as i hate pinning numbers. (maybe more) the vc women ended up 2nd, 4th and 5th for the day.

so i've been thinking of doing some iron on onesies like the image above for gifts and my own kid, but i need more ideas. some ideas so far are, tootie from the facts of life, yoda, hasselhoff, chips, golden girls (always a fav), she-ra and he-man, oprah (daytime t.v. icon), bob barker...etc.

get creative and let me know some more ideas.

met up with magna doodle and elie today at the windy saddle cafe in downtown golden. it is owned by a friend. i'm not just saying this cause we know her, but it's real yummy. the owner is a self proclaimed coffee snob too, so they have some real good coffee to go along with a real good panini.
