jon's 32nd birFday
an action shot of jon blowing out all of the candles. i worked so hard on this cake. i would say candying the strawberries and making fondant top were the hardest part of the 3 layer white cake.
aunt sara teaching me how to walk. (nooooooooo, not yet!)
daddy got a funny card that sang the surf song, wipe out. it blew sam's mind that a piece of paper could sing.
btw, i didn't make the cake.

and finally easter sunday...
easter sunday with mimi and popi.
sam finding eggs that the easter bunny hid in my parent's living room.
he was really good at hunting for the eggs, and his parents were really good at eating the whoppers and jelly bellies that were inside the eggs.

after the hunt popi got the old MG out so we could take it around the block. sam really enjoyed the fact that his car seat would not fit in the back, and jon really enjoyed the fact that popi let him drive.

next day of the trip...
we spent a lot of time in the pool. we heated the spa, but then we would jump in the cold pool when we were feeling kinda crazy.
sam and daddy enjoying the warm weather. in fact it was too warm, sam got a little bit of heat rash on this day. he also may be allergic to the "made in china" super Target hat that i put on his head to keep that noggin from burning. learning from my mistakes...
this nilla wafers raft is awesome. my mom went on a bread pudding kick one year and saved up all the proof of purchases for this sweet flotation device.
"fun" uncle todd lets me eat paper. he's the best.

more from our houston trip...
mimi and sam at starbucks. yes, i still have sam in his pajamas. and yes, i believe he is singing in this photo. he's a big singer, the next barry manilow.
popi and sam enjoy an early morning with coffee, dry frosted mini wheats, a busy bee, and the paper. it's hard to smile at this hour in the morning.
getting ready for the walk back home. we walk to starbucks every morning with my parents, but due to poor economic times this starbucks is closing in two weeks, and we won't be able to get our quad americanos anymore. boooooooo, starbucks.

jon, sam, and i went to houston this weekend to visit my family. one of the first stops on the trip was the spring easter fair at their church. it was going OFF. pictures below with my camera phone of all the exotic goats/horses/animals and carnival rides.

we are doing this toy rental thing from babyplays.com it's pretty awesome. they ship you 4 toys, you use them for 30 days, and then you ship them back with the mailing label they provide. then, when they get those toys back they send you 4 more.
one of sam's first toys is this long blue tube. at first he was really not that into it, but now he thinks it is pretty cool.
