today we had sam's christening up on super flag. (1 mile past amphitheater on flagstaff) it was a beautiful morning and a beautiful venue. sam wasn't too keen on the event, and we now understand why one usually does this pre-walking stage.


sam hanging with is new buddy, cowboy cousin ryan. the deal is that ryan gets a pair of cowboy boots when he goes potty in a big boy toilet, however, he is very content with wearing his "sissy's" over-sized red boots.

shortly after this picture we saw that sam had a HUGE reaction to something in the cake. we took him upstairs and threw him in the tub, got him all washed, and then pretty much rubbed steroid creme all over his body until the hives went away. it was horrible looking, i don't have a picture, but you can see the hives if you blow up the picture.

the whole houston fisk clan is here for sam's christening and birthday. here's a pic of everyone enjoying the evening.

for he most part sam just sat in his bathtub (without water) and watched the kids run around. he thoroughly enjoyed all the action.


my favorite picture... jon with ryan. he is wearing gracen's red patent leather cowboy boots, faux suede vest, and his trusty ol' ranch hand hat... he cracks me up.

mimi and popi drove all the way from texas to hang out with sam for 10 days. they've been going for long walks with sam high on the mountain for some "serious training".


sam got one of his many 1st birthday presents a little early... a Caterpillar dump truck with buttons that make some sweet authentic dump truck-type noises.

maggie is staying over tonight because she has to get up really early for the boulder peak triathlon. in preparation for her big race she vegged out, chewed on her finger to alleviate her teething pains, and watched the CAT machines dvd with sam.

first steps

sam's first steps happened about five minutes prior to this. this video is when he actually went far (for a baby). i love how he is making the motor sound as he walks. also, if you listen closely at the end, it is as if he says, "darn", since the ball rolled away too far.
