Still playing with the trains...
...But sam has slowed down train lines and we have had lots of derailments in Sodor because he keeps sitting on the track.
it is 12 degrees outside right now so sam and i are sorta stuck in the house for fear of freezing our faces off.
some things we have done today:
balance spoons on his head during lunch.
play with his newly acquired thomas the train hand-me-down set from pseudo big brother lucas. you should have seen his eyes when i pulled this thing out and showed him the trains. 
and finally, naps.

Sam is used to his headrests in his carseat at home so I made some for him with my pillow and his winter jacket.

sam borrowed cousin ryry's big boy cowboy boots yesterday. he found them extraordinarily hard to walk in. (since there is a heel and all)
christmas round 2
sam got a "manly" baby doll with camo clothes to make it more "manly". 
his favorite presents were all the trucks, trash trucks, telehandler tractors, and mini machines santa brought him.
i got a sweet nikon camera and jon got socks and underwear.

took the radio flyer trike out for a spin to the park. (thanks mimi and popi) we now understand why they are made for 2 year olds and up. if you look closely you will see that we zip tied wood blocks to the pedals with hopes that he would actually use them. instead i think he is going to have some serious bruises on his shins from them banging into him with every pedal stroke.

we are celebrating Christmas with jon's family tomorrow so sam got to open one present before bedtime (as custom) for his first of two celebrations. 
wahoooo, a dollar store slinky. seriously, he went ape poop over this thing. i can't wait to see what he does tomorrow morning when he walks down the stairs to HIS CATERPILLAR CHOO-CHOO TRAIN!!! (oh, and his monkey sock puppet that i honestly won at the white elephant exchange last night)
today sam and i decided to put up all the tents. (i haven't used that green one since the grand teton trip from hell)
a couple of months ago we bought the big agnes, and wow, it is big! i wanted to see if i could fit my aero mattress in there, and good news, i can! jon and sam may have to sleep on some thermarests though.

today was picture with santa day at the railroad museum. sam wouldn't sit on santa's lap so we had to stand with him. (he still looks a bit concerned over the man with the over sized white beard)
