i carved this dude up earlier today. i forgot to include teeth so let's just say he is from kentucky. (click)
Beck - Clap Hands

beck taking playing with your silverware to a new level. (my friend erin just informed me that i actually went to college with the guy that is serving the wine or aka waiter)

fun times cutting stuff at the veloswap. anne, brent and i had a grand ole time cutting up clif bars into tiny bite-sized pieces for everyone to sample. we were very sanitary, when we had an itch or had to wipe our noses we did so on eacy other's jerseys.

g-money roscoe and collin (who asked where the hair nets were) surprised me. these two were serious sample cutters.

a lot of sampling, and so very appetizing.

the hoff wants you to "fall back".

the deer went to town on our tree trimmings.

still there four hours later.

in other news...last night the girls were over for dinner. we started a walk up to ideal market to get some cookies, then decided it was too cold and got the car. (so much for burning off the cookie cals) bridget and erin can't resist a climb on the heavy equipment parked down the street, and without prompting bridget goes into the natural charlie's angels pose.

i still can't find my camera. so, i went out and bought a new one. it is the sony t-10 and it is sweet. my last camera took crappy pictures at dusk and had a problem zooming so that was my excuse for getting a new one. plus, i have dropped the old one about 15 times while crossing the street, taking action shots on the bike, getting it hit out of my hand, general clumsiness, stuff like that.

the new one takes great pictures at dusk without a flash. jon mowing the lawn last night in his cosby sweater. i am supposed to mow the front yard today. guess i got out of that!

this morning he went out and cleaned up some branches that were on the verge of falling due to the super wet snow.

we really didn't get too much over here in boulder. check out the springs on renee's (sparky) website, she is swimming in it.

i went for a really muddy/slushy hike up mt. sanitas today. i wore my running shoes, bad idea, next time i am getting out the heavy duty boots.

yesterday i went to the carpal tunnel doc and she told me i have ACUTE CTS. um, if this is acute i don't want to know what not so acute feels like. she gave me an overpriced CTS splint to wear at night and told me to take advil. if this doesn't work then i am going under the knife. waking up in the middle of the night and wondering if you hand is still attached to your body is not something i want to live with forever.

in other news, i have misplaced my camera which is not good for my blogging. hopefully it will turn up.

jon is so excited about his new mountain bike that he put it together in his long underwear. thanks steve for helping jon get off of a 1993 scott single speed and onto this sweet ride.
http://www.cyclimages.com/ is nice enough to post his images on the web for everyone. i swiped these from his website. thanks...

yesterday's race was really hard for me. lack of warm up, and not working out for a week took it's toll on my body. my lungs were killing me at the end of the race and it took about a half hour and a pepsi for that blood taste to go away. i think that is the taste you get when you are going so hard that your lungs are bleeding. (not really, but that's what it tastes like)

jon running up the hill. this is how normal people took the barrier, dismount and run up. however...

if you are jon baker you jump the thing and ride on. this guy has some skills.

i would guess he would jump the barriers too.

last week jon and spent some good times in south texas hanging out with my family. here are some pictures of the trip. todd my brother brought two of the three kids, jill and little mr. ryan stayed in houston. they were missed. thanks to todd for making the effort and bringing the kids to have fun with us.

we went on a helicopter ride which was awesome. jon looking very comfortable in his helicopter gear. being the loving and giving wife that i am i gave him the front seat.

we spent one night by the campfire. here is mimi and gracen hanging out.

we went fishing for catfish. i wish i had a picture of the catfish. they were so skinny that i would name everyone after a super model. i.e. kate moss catfish and paris hilton catfish.

i had a hard time reeling in my skinny fish with this big dude on my back.

just like justin timberlake, i am "bringing the headband back".

i only had one follower. mr. griffin sporting his guns, one shoe and headband look. very jane fonda.

this picture my brother mentioned looks like we are taking griffin captive and gracen is holding the ransom note before we truck him off to his cell.

mimi leading them to the cell. all they had was some barbed wire and a lemon tree. todd took pictures for the ransom money.

dad built a sweet basketball hoop/court for everyone to enjoy. (i imagine it is the only one in the county, besides the one at the state penitentiary) gracen taking it to the hoop like jordan with a one handed assisted dunk.

dad showing us his p.i.g. shots.

guess who won the game. (in another game my mom beat me. i will be hearing about this for years to come. she always said she played when she was a kid. i guess she wasn't bluffing.)

griffin pulling todd's finger.

tomorrow we are meeting gracen for lunch at her school and driving darn close to mexico and staying there for a couple of days. there is no internet, the cell service is spotty at best, and the terrain is rough. (cacti and big bugs) i will be back to blogging on saturday night.

you know you are in texas when you buckle up your deer mount in the backseat.

some flooding by the house.

jon and i sat around dia today waiting for the downpour in houston to finish up. it finally did 2 hours later and we landed to flooding streets and mimi (my mom) on a mission to get us home safely. (we drove real slow) the tollways in houston are crazy, you pay $1.00-5.00 to sit in traffic. if you have to pay a toll you would think you would get to avoid traffic. not here!

griffin modeling this years halloween outfit. he is a big fan of the movie cars.

jon tries it on for size.

ryan watching all of the action.

jon and i are up in breckenridge racing cross. mr. forecaster said that it was supposed to be 52 and sunny, but it was more like 32 and spittin snow and rain. we were caked in mud by the end of the race. luckily we are staying at michael schillings and he had a warm fire and bbq lined up for us when we got home.

i thought this was a cool view. you can't really see, but the mountains behind was real pretty.

schilling just had major knee surgery and has this sweet icing machine that he is hooked up to whenever he is sitting. jon is using the compex for recovery before our second race today at the frisco nordic center.

fat molly, this dog drools more than any dog i have ever met.

jon (commuter on right in bike lane) vs. tarkington madre and padre (in green subaru) racing to dinner down on pearl street. jon won when he did a superman tailwip landing right at the bike rack ready to lock it up.

passing them for the win.

bridget, brando, and i walked to pearl st. last night for dinner. jon had hunters education and missed out on the festivities, but he did get a certifiable card that said he was hunter educated.

so here's the question of the night... why when you order a hummus app. do they only give you 4 tiny pita breads to eat it with? does anyone ever get enough pita to go with their hummus? is pita bread that expensive that they can't just put some more on the plate? it is an interesting phenomenon.

today i volunteered for the group, girls on the run with bridget. here are the "runners" stretching before our big mile run. i forget how funny kids are, and today's lesson plan was drugs which was even funnier. bridget talked about cocaine, crack and heroin, the looks on their faces was priceless and clueless. that's when we decided that those drugs were a little to "hard" for 8 year olds and started into cigarettes and alcohol. then they were with us. i think that lesson plan is for the older girls on the run groups.

about 1/4 of a mile into it the girls thought that walking was better than running.

today i went to the resource yard and picked up a used sink for $15. (since one of our old ones rusted through and i need to replace it before the house hits the market) this place is sweet. if you live in boulder and want to get some great deals on used home materials this is the spot to go. http://www.resourceyard.org/

the old house looks so lonely. i don't really miss it one bit. (maybe i miss the 2 car garage a little, but that's it)
