went to sushi with maggie and little baby elie (named after me). elie is so good, i need a good baby like this one. hopefully my wish is granted. maggie said she owes it all to the book, "baby wise" i'm going to buy that thing right now on amazon.

becky and i met up and did mesa trail to big bluestream. on our way up were informed of a mountain lion sighting, but i felt safe because becky was leading and i was the one holding the pepper power spray. (i even went as far as testing the pepper power to see if something my dad gave me in my xmas stocking around 1998 was still working, good news, it is.)

then the rangers that were in the area were right behind us with their tazer dart guns and everything and i put away my pepper power cause at that point i felt extra safe.

end result, we had no mountain lion sighting, and had a super hike.

happy 2nd birthday ryan!

went to the baby doc today and everything is just peachy. the baby's heart rate was 140 so it is getting in some solid tempo work at this stage. our next visit we find out if it is a boy or a girl. i am now officially 16 weeks pregnant and i still don't think i look too pregnant, but my friend did call me "thick" the other day. interesting word choice, not too offensive, but not exactly pleasant.

that's all i've got.

i have come to realize that the pear jelly belly smells and tastes like armpit. (not that i know what armpit/b.o. tastes like, but what i would imagine it tastes like)

amy was alway like, "i'm not going to rehab no no no and she won't go go go". guess she changed her mind.

i just got back from a great hike with chellie and her dog ruby. everything was beautiful and peaceful up there on sanitas until ruby started eating poop. i now call that dog ruby the poop eater.

after putting our mail on hold for a month i had a lot of sorting to do. i did get 2 really good items.

one was a mix cd from sharon the hammer called, walk across the floor like naomi campbell. she gets points for the title, and points for the cover artwork. the cd is so very cutting edge.

my second item that made me so happy was a personalized signed trading card from future world cyclocross champion hopeful ms. katie compton herself via sparky. for those of you that can't read it, it says: to my bff - beth (which is code for best friend forever) i heart your blog! katie compton.

i'm not going to do one of those posts where i complain about the weather, how cold it is (10), and the trace amounts of ice/snow on the ground and then talk about how awesome santa barbara is, i'm just not going to do that.

on another note anne and i hit up the new 24 hour fitness on iris and got a free week. i'll keep you updated on how buff and yogified i get in a week.

and finally this is when they shut down i70 in both directions and don't ask me how we made it through, but we did.

after derek and jon did a massive 6 hour ride they were craving la super-rica, and the good news is there was no line and it was finally open.

the tamales are so good that we got some to go for dinner tonight. seriously, if you are in the santa barbara area and you want simply the best mexican food ever you must visit this place.

this morning we headed out on the local s.b. group ride. the tempo started to pick up about twenty minutes into it and the two preggo women got dropped kinda hard. after being dropped we took off on a nice little loop around montecito and then home. it was another beautiful day.

lisa and i went to this sweet shop called lululemon. it is my new favorite place, and come to find out there's one right down the street from us in boulder. their clothing is uncomfortably comfortable. (that means real comfy times two)

after an early spin to the coffee shop i thought i would go do a little hike up in the mountains. this is the cold springs trail.

then lisa forced me to do 1 hour and 45 minutes of yoga at some studio down on state street. it was a good time, but really hard to focus. i kept thinking about what i did today and what i was going to do later. i don't think you are supposed to do that while om'ing.

today was the annual pilgrimage to in and out burger.

i'm really glad we aren't staying at the extendastay. it is across the street from in and out, and it could get ugly with all the burgers and shakes consumed.

our walk to la super-rica (only the finest hole-in-the-wall mexican food in s.b.) was fun and jovial until we got there to see the handwritten note saying they were on vacation, be back on january 15.

last night the my old college buds met up with me to celebrate my birthday. good times.

today we hit yerba buena in malibu and had an awesome ride. the riding here is great, i think we saw four cars on the accent which was ten miles. makes me want a mobile home both here and in santa barbara.
