well the 236 lb beast of a t.v. is gone. tracy (the buyer) came over with bob and julie (the helpers) to move the thing. turns out you need 4-5 people and some cardboard to move it. i had to run across the street and recruit a neighbor (mike) that i literally had only met one other time and ask him to help. (jon was conveniently at a bike race)

i am happy to announce i didn't have to lift a finger, i did get the t.v. cord out of the way when they were moving it, but that was the extent of my lifting.

pregnancy came in really really handy today.

my new favorite thing to do is text sparky and the tie dye twins while they are on the road in tulsa. i do a lot of texting while walking which is kinda dangerous, i can't imagine texting and driving, root and c-ray how do you do this?

last night jon did his first masters race up on the old wheels of thunder course. masters at these races require that you are 30 and not 35 years old so he was so excited to be old enough.

i like this pic of him. since there was really nothing to do i took a walk around the course and shot some photos. the race was a little bit boring (even though jon won), but it beat sitting at home getting kicked in the stomach while watching a netflix movie.

bolder boulder at the height of the rif-raf wave. those are the walk/run waves, i'm not judging, that's just what we call them.

me standing in a puddle along the course. notice behind me in florescent is ms. tutu who's been dancing in a tutu to bad music since 1979. (i think i heard some ace of base playing)

jon admiring the grass as well as the rif-raf.

we kinda had a party of fellow bike racers and friends at our corner when the pros came through. i would say it was a good turn out considering it was raining fairly hard.

the boys stayed warm circling their bikes.

and then going off jumps.

after all of our hard work watching the pros run really fast we went to tee and cakes on pearl street and got crazy with some cupcake action.

hayden got really into it.

the bolder boulder (front runners) going past our house this morning. the amount of people running this race is insane, this year it is something like 53,000. some fun things jon and i saw while sitting in our zero gravity chairs: 3 people texting, 2 people on the phone, some really bad usa shorts pulled up way too high, and 5-6 people cross dressing by wearing their cycling jersey while running (seems it's a new trend... i guess they love the rear pockets).

it's official, i had my last bike ride on sunday with baby t and sparkles. it all came to an end when i received the largest kick of my pregnancy (i think its foot hit my top tube) and noticed it was much easier to ride standing up then sitting down and kneeing my baby in my belly. so now i am all about hiking and walking for the last 50ish days.

call me if you want to go for a hike!

i spent a lot of time with these three clowns today. i have to say that my teammates are some of the funniest people i know.

the cutest street performer at the race, sylvia.

2nd annual preggo hike up lookout mountain. kenny and i turning to the side to make ourselves look "slim"...just like the supermodels do in their photo shoots.

it was beautiful up there, a bit hot, but with the recent weather i'm not complaining. (i may be soon though)

thank goodness for chellie. she came over this morning to do some therapy on jon's stess ball neck/shoulder. it got him complaining a little less, and i think that's the first half smile i've seen in about three days.
blogging has been real slow the last couple of days. some things that have happened during the hiatus are:

jon cannot move his neck - i believe it is stress related, but a visit from our neighbor and local pt chellie should help him out a bit.

i am now 8 months pregnant as of last thursday.

all i do for workouts now is hike, walk, and avoid idiots on their skateboards on the bike path.

sara, jon's sister and doug came over for quiche and we watched waiting for guffman for the millionth time. that movie just never gets old to me.

today i'm going on a hike with kenny. hopefully i'll have some photos and a story, cause with kenny there is never a dull moment.

Top hat supply?, originally uploaded by bfisk99.

how do places like the top hat supply store stay open on pearl street? they don't even sell top hats, they sell generic janitorial type cleaning supplies.

boulder is so wacky.

i don't know why this giant cow has been on every morning news program today. it's not like he all of a sudden became ginormous. what is newsworthy about this thing?

meanwhile, china had the massive earthquake, thailand had the cyclone and i am seeing and hearing news on a giant cow.

yesterday morning when the temp hit 35 degrees at 8 a.m. the women's collegiate criterium started. 2 smart girls from michigan and harvard were released off the front and won. harvard girl may not have been as smart as her school would imply though because michigan beat her.

there were a bunch of peeps from boulder who made the early morning trip up to ft. fun to watch the girls. from left to right mallen, dirk, shippy, missy t., margell (sans childeren), tim, renee and chellie.

sparky, carol and me (with baby 8 mos. this week). sparky and i are thinking of enrolling in ITT tech so we can do collegiate nats next year and spice it up a bit.

btw sparky's new name is sparkles per her request. she has more on the weekend's festivities on her blog.

and on the day before my inaugural mother's day i planted some floral arrangements. i really didn't like doing it, but when i was done i felt a sense of accomplishment...kinda like a hill climb.

i went to my first prenatal yoga class today. i must say i was unimpressed. it is an hour and thirty minute class and we only did ONE downward dog!

then after one downward dog we all took a nap.

lame.

and i have 3 more classes to go.
something i saw on my big walk today...

on my walk yesterday i found this child swing set up to be rather odd. the swing was hanging off a tree limb that actually swung the kid into the street.

it goes against my motto of safety first.

nerd alert, nerd alert.

i could totally see some mac user having these bad boys.

Monday, May 05, 2008

no good news headlines and nothing too exciting going on. just plugging along and still feeling good.

this morning brings the rabbit mountain time trial and sparky is shaving off some unneeded seat post weight so expect something magical today.

kendra and i did the pregnant woman power walk up lookout mountain watching the bike racers along the way. kendra demonstrates the power walk above.

first woman up the climb, amy d. good thing she didn't come around the corner any sooner because she would have seen pregnant woman kendra hanging off the guardrail urinating.

the hike down was much more enjoyable than the pavement hike up.

jon making his way up the mountain.

for dinner tonight little leah t. invited us to her school caff for some tasty burritos. it was quite the throwback sitting in little people cafeteria seats again. joe mentioned that he may need some arthroscopic surgery after banging his knees on the table for the eighth time.

mopo (maury povich) interviews a woman scared of balloons. it's straight off a snl skit, but this is for reals people.
