last day of boot camp happened to fall on halloween so we all dressed in 80's clothes. only 5 of the 12 of us dressed up. everyone else was LAME. funny thing is i wear everything i am wearing in the picture on a regular basis.

i'm so glad that the scott carpenter hill sprints are over.

this is from a walgreens ad i got the other day. i don't understand who the person in the middle is supposed to be, Geraldine Ferraro???

since i can't figure out who to vote for this year i am having sam fill out my ballot.
two things i walk by everyday with sam and can't help but laugh.

a swing for giants.

and a sculpture stump that is just wrong.

yesterday was real nice riding weather, and no wind either. maybe it will be a mild winter.

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

sam's first bike helmet. now we have to wait for his head to grow into it, and we're taking him for a ride.

shelley came over today and organized our kitchen for FIVE hours! i thought it was organized before, but now it's out of control/type A on methamphetamines organized.

note to self, don't buy anymore mexicorn.

cooking utensil drawer before...

...and after.

doing this type of organizing is really stressful and if you are going to do it yourself don't do it, just hire someone it makes it slightly easier.

we were informed today that there was a halloweenfest up in b.c. village. i put together this outfit from his things and he became rev run.

the weekly MANicure. this client doesn't tip too well.

when there is very little time for me to ride i notice the surroundings a lot more. it was really pretty up here in the mountains today.

jon and i headed up to the mountains for a couple of days. i really don't want winter to come, so i really am not enjoying the white stuff on the ground. jon wants to shoot an elk this year though and being the giving/caring/devoted wife that i am i decided to support his endeavor.

checking out the scat scene with sam.

name that scat...

and this one too.

(foot is there for a size reference. however, i do have rather large feet.)

i'm sorry to report that maury is always on t.v. during sam's mid afternoon feeding... And i actually watch it.

sunday night we went up to gamelines archery club up above lee hill so jon could shoot his bow and arrow set at some helpless 3D archery animal targets. (i think this picture gives us all an idea of what jon would look like with a handlebar mustache)

it was a beautiful evening.

sam fell asleep towards the end...

...and i had to haul him back to the car on my shoulder. he was passsssssed out...like an all night fraternity binge'r passed out.

proof that i did actually race. being at the back of the pack the big photographer dudes don't take a lot of photos of you, but i found this site that took pics of the back of the pack girls only.

sam thinks he's mr. popularity and his "new friend" laughs at everything he laughs at, they have so much in common.

Sunday, October 19, 2008

this weeks cyclocross race went much better. however, sam does not like the cowbells that people love to obnoxiously ring. jon got 5th in his race, sara got 15th (and their names in the paper) i got 30th which is better than last week.

i'd like to give a shout out to my girls jenna and carol for screaming, "move up" during the race. i yelled that to them over and over this year while pregnant on the sidelines so they were paying me back.

the boys and the baby boys. since cathy (mother of jack) and i don't want to go through birth again we have decided to make jack and sam blood brothers. the ceremony took place last night as we sat in a circle chanting with a bunch of candles for light. then we ate ice cream.

Friday, October 17, 2008

question: should i take sam trick or treating this year? it is obvious to the fellow neighbors that sam can't eat the candy, but jon and i kinda want to eat the loot.
okay, i'll keep updating, but not everyday, and mostly pics of sam.

sorry for the lack of blog posts everyone. i just don't have time to be creative anymore. after 4 years of this blogging everyday i think i need to hang up my roller skates. (maybe)

money is tight in these trying times. sam's growing so fast that i had to cut the feet out on these puppies just so the outfit will fit for another 2 weeks or so.

i think he's fine with it, i haven't heard him complain.

good thing little amy d. is 21 now, cause that's a big beer she's holding. she killed it in gloucester cross race, and to think we used to go head to head 2 years ago...someone improved, and it wasn't me.
i have a feeling the line to get a sandwich won't be too long here...

sam getting ready for his chariot ride in the rain. yes, we may have bought the outfit a tad too big, but you would too if you saw how fast these kids grow!

showin' those pearly whites... he's a real happy boy.

jon's been outside cleaning our bikes and vc outfits for an hour.

well kids, today was my first race back. let me tell you, it wasn't pretty. i got absolute LAST place in the women's open cyclocross race at xlinx, and i got passed by some 35+ women that started a minute behind me! i didn't want to do another lap after doing about four, so i literally stopped so i could get lapped by none other than the big winner, and vc teammate, lisa (who also just had a baby 7 ish months ago, my inspiration).

i don't know why i chose to have my come back race on a dreary day and a super muddy course, but i did and i am glad to have it over with. i'm also glad to have a little bit of that hematocrap back that i lost at the birth 11 short weeks ago.

i can only move up from here, i think.

this movie is real good, and it features the hulk, the governor of california, hacksaw jim duggan, and rocky (who is my personal favorite character and inspiration during this off season. picture me marching through waist deep snow wearing a leather jacket accented with a faux fur collar and a log strapped across my shoulders).

as some of you know, i simply love mini frosted wheats. however, last time i went to safeway with a coupon (like an old lady) i purchased blueberry muffin flavor. now this blog post is just kind of a heads up to some of you that may get a coupon as well. don't buy blueberry muffin frosted mini wheats, they make your mouth go numb. that just can't be good. (picture of maggie with numb mouth)

this weekend maggie, jimmy and eliebobelli hosted us up at their cabin by red feather lakes. this was our big hike on saturday, it was more like a walk though. i don't think it can qualify as a hike since i never broke a sweat and slept in the same pants since they still felt kinda clean.

jimmy takes elie off road in the bob.

maggie and one of her many dumb photos i have been collecting since college, about 13 years worth of material.

elie making sure sam is listening to the story with her pooh ears. we contemplated leaving sam with elie for the night while we went out since she is a very mature 16 month old kid. (even though she did this doozy the other day)

jon and i hit vic's coffee before we headed out on saturday morning, and i ordered a surprisingly delicious triple decaf americno. (since sam is sensitive to the bean) i think the jackal barista gave me full strength caffeine and this was sam for about half of our visit. it was real frustrating.

sam hearts his lamby.

the boys having a deep conversation about trees and mowing the lawn in the zero gravity chairs.

this thing DID NOT smell like honey.

happy birthday mom. you still look like a teenager.
