today sharon, anne and i did a road race in gateway, colorado which is just about as far west as you can go without hitting utah. the race started out easy enough and we did a couple rollers, gretchen attacked, caught her, then right after i told gretchen to watch carlos she attacks again and that's when the lay folk got dropped. that includes me and anne. so we have about 70 more miles to go with a group of five girls. fun times.
sharon was up the road with the good climbers so we were worried about her too much. then i guess she rode the race solo for 40 miles or so in a headwind.
oh, that's another thing, there was a headwind in both directions in an 85 mile road race. somebody please tell me why we subject ourselves to this.
okay, so the final turn came and anne was giving me a lead out for the group sprint, (obvious) but instead she decides since we are out in the country to whistle at me like she is rounding up cattle. it was pretty funny.
so the denver spoke does it again, sharon came in 4th, beth with a mad leadout came in 6th and then anne continued her lead out and just kept on trucking and came in 7th.
