i love riding in santa barbara, jon and are so lucky to be able to do this during the windy/cold winters in boulder.

today i rode up old san marcos road to the painted caves, it was really steep, but the scenery helped me forget about the mountain grade.

going up to see the painted caves there are these two rocks that go over the road and frame the view, i had to stop to take a pic.

i stuck my camera in through the bars and took this photo of the painted cave drawings. here is what i got off the internet about them: This sandstone cave houses religious drawings by Chumash Native Americans, as well as likenesses of coastal fishermen that date back to the 1600s. Located above Santa Barbara in a steep canyon, the site preserves these fine examples of Native American art on the side walls of the rock shelter.

gotta go down, and this road was a bumpy/curvy decent.
