it was a beautiful day today at beaver creek. here is jon giving "a look". (i don't know what the look is, but it is a look)

skiied with my parents today, they are really good so it is nice to be able to do something like this with them.

the deavers, my parent's friends, were all about robbing people on the slopes. they got a couple rolex watches and some fur jackets.

jon and i are up in beaver creek with the parents. we went to splendidos tonight and saw john lynch, go broncos.

my mom bought me this dish towel. i was under the impression that i thought of this saying. apparently i didn't since there is a trademark in the lower right corner.

it was a beautiful day to ride today. the birds were chirping, the sun was shining, i was wearing shorts and not freezing. anne and i pre-rode the koppenberg circuit course today, it is in AWESOME condition. i've seen many paved roads in worse condition than the dirt there this year.

anne and cathrine climb up the steep hill on the course. this is where the race always breaks up because some people spin out their back tires and can't make it up.

after the circuit race on sunday i could hardly think let alone blog, so here is what we did after the big 60 miler sunset loop.

right after the race sharon came over to the car and was bonking so hard that she couldn't form a sentence, couldn't walk a straight line, and confessed that she only took one clif shot with her the entire race. she was looking for the keys to get into her car and to some type of food, but couldn't find them. renee said come over here, i have some recovery drink and some of these dried apricots. not thinking, sharon downed 2 recovery drinks (bloat) and then proceeded to pound about 20 apricots. results as follows:

lesson learned, don't overeat apricots. i learned this lesson 10 years ago while on a bus ride home from a college swimmeet. maybe i should have spoken up and saved sharon some serious bloat.

sharon licking her chops and still feeling the apricot bloat knuckles up to a large recovery dinner. move over apricots, here comes two feet of bread.

after dinner we visited the exotic animal store right by the race start and finish.

there were also movie action figures in the reptile store. i guess the type of people that buy large snakes and lizards also like to dabble in action figure collection. if you ask me it is a lot like doll collecting. notice the al pacino scarface figure in white (my favorite), to the left of that is a hugh jackman kate and leopold action figure or is he the wolfman in this?

today was the sunset loop we had to do the loop 8 times (60 miles). this was crazy hard and technical. i'm real tired. more later...

well, we finished the race. pic is of the team and in the back ground is sharon getting some medical attention. it wasn't good, but no broken bones. a lot of road rash, and she has said she will race tomorrow. we were all doing really well staying with the main pack until 3 to go and some moron ran into a barrier. it was on a straight section too, so it was so silly that the crash happened. i landed on sharon, and renee landed on me. sharon got some severe damage to her body, i have a minor cut, and sparky had a soft landing (me) so nothing. so the really crappy part is that we are all going to have times that are 2 minutes back when we really finished with the pack. if we had crashed .3 k up the road we would have all gotten the leader time. (because we would have been within 1K, and since it was 3 to go we couldn't get a free lap... ahhhhh, it is frustrating and confusing i know) anyway, that's what happened. i'm really bummed about the situation. tomorrow is the sunset loop race, which will be exciting.

uuummmm, UFO's. we are packing up renee's car with them and bringing them back to colorado. hopefully renee's car makes it over the mountain passes with all the extra trader joe's ufo weight.

i made it to redlands, ca and seem to be having some internet issues. so no blog pictures today. hopefully we will have this internet thing figured out soon and show you some of the pics from the sunset loop the team did today. the time trial starts tomorrow at 10 a.m. and it is a 5k roller, then super steep thing. wish us luck.

looks like the jon benet ramsey house is back up for sale. funny how they fail to mention that the most notorious murder in boulder took place in the basement, and can you believe that price tag!

jon and james went on a 4 hour ride today in the 24 degree weather. when they came home they defrosted water bottles, james' beard, and talked about how much reflective gear is too much.

after jon got home it was time for anne and i to brave the winter wonderland. i put on my new adidas windstopper jacket which makes me look real fat in the tummy area and my colorado state hill climb vest that i won on a fluke. i also put on socks and shoes after this pic. i ain't crazy yo.

anne opted for the headband around the chin look to keep her young and protected from the elements. that anne, always thinking.

someone needs to donate anne some new gloves too. 1986 called and it wants it's purple lobster gloves with fluorescent green accents back.

we went to the stazio course and did loops and efforts until we couldn't feel our hands and they were starting to sting a bit.

i am so ready to leave for california in two days. warm weather and tanning, here i come.

so, i have nothing to post today. i have posted way too many photos of the falling snow, and guess what it did today...snowed.

i went to yoga class for the first time in years with erin huck at flatirons gym. we established a secret let's get out of here code if we didn't like it. if one of us opens our eyes real big that is the sign to leave. okay, deal... so, we walked in late, and they were oooooming and singing, yes singing, which was real weird. luckily i didn't have to flash the "open eye signal" of let's leave because the instructor got into yoga poses shortly after the ooooming. note to self and others, i am not an oooooomer or a singer. another note to self and others, i am sore, i think i pulled something.

boulder racing had a criterum yesterday thanks to jac attack from rio grande divas cycling team we have some pics. for a full account of the race you can click on their blog. the vitamin cottage girls got 4th, 5th and 10th-ish.

me on the far left in the glamorous purple and orange vc colors, and sharon at the front leading the pack over the biggest drainage type dip in an office park in all of boulder. really, you could catch air off of that thing if you really wanted to, we didn't want to. there was enough sketchiness in the race that adding any type of jump in it wasn't a good idea.

jon and i stayed up until midnight working on my bike. looks like someone could use a break from building.

i met mom and dad at beau jo's tonight in idaho springs. they are skiing this week with some friends. we had a good time eating pizza. i know a lot of you out there have some good parents, but i think mine are the tops!

sara and chris valenti came over to strap one of our large queen size beds on the top of their mini honda civic last night. chris' brother aaron is staying with them and has been sleeping on a leaky blow up mattress for the past month. (having to pump up your bed in the middle of the night is no fun)

they had a little trouble since the winds were raging at 50 mph and almost lost the whole thing on arapahoe, but managed to get it home in one piece and aaron got a good nights sleep.

it is hard to move mattress on the top of a car, but how else are you supposed to do it? it wouldn't fit in jon's exploder and we don't have a truck to haul things. so whenever you see people trying to move their mattress, have some compassion, because it is hard work if you don't have a large truck.

i got out before the storm and winds picked up and it was a beautiful day. not too cold, and not too windy yet.

i also saw a red fox, couldn't snap a picture in time, and could only find this stock photo.

i wish i had $40.00 to frivolously spend on this shirt.

tonight erin, anne, jon and i celebrated bridget's birthday. (even though it was four days ago) i made her an awful looking angel food cake with strawberry frosting. i put the frosting on while the cake was still hot and it ended up looking like a big pile of throw up. see for yourself...

this photo stolen from sparky's blog makes me feel better about the snow in boulder. snow in the most perfect place, santa barbara. why do i feel better knowing it is crappy in s.b. too?

i really shouldn't complain. here is dea riding with an animal around her head, a full down comforter in form of a jacket, and her friend with fluorescent green down boxing gloves just to stay warm when it is 5 degrees.
