here are some pics from the week.
the fun finder pulled by our under powered f150.
the shower and toilet (the whole reason i wanted to rent it since we were camping up in the boonies.) jon and i consider ourselves pretty slim/fit people and we barley fit in the thing. i was also only allotted a 3-4 minute shower. he started yelling at me to get out if i left it running more than 30 seconds. let's just say it was better than no shower at all, but just a smidgen better.
our sleeping arrangements involved lamby flannel sheets, sleeping bags, and a camo comforter.
we started out the journey with a stop in fruita to ride mary's loop and the ever so fun horse thief loop. the view of the colorado river was beautiful.
me riding the loop.
tiff and steve the loving couple getting married.
our first ride in the la sals involved herding cattle and hoping the didn't trample us.
the view from our campsite.
the kitchen.
eric the professional marshmallow roaster with cute little ernesto looking on.
the big wedding day hike involved about 40 people and it was a blast.
INSERT WHAT SHOULD BE WEDDING PHOTOS HERE... IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING OVERLOOKING MOAB AND THE CANYONLANDS.
the next day we went for another ride, but it started pouring rain before the start so some of us huddled in our 4x4 of fun.
mojo thinking of jumping.
diane coming down one of the rocky sections. i take that back, it was all rocky. (a good reason for a full suspension bike)
everyone hanging out at an old homestead we found along the trail overlooking the huge drop into the canyon below.
and then here are some pretty pictures i took just cause it was so pretty.
the last night of our stay jon and i were up at the campground all alone and there was one of the worst thunderstorms i have ever experienced. it was really hard to sleep. i kept thinking about a road washing out below and us not being able to get home, lightning hitting the fun finder, forest fires... etc. oh, and we ran out of all gas and power at this point so we froze to death this night. (not really, but we did see that it snowed above us in the mountains)
bottom line: the wedding was great, the people were top notch, but rv'ing just isn't for me. good news is jon and i were thinking about buying one of these rv things so we just saved ourselves a butt load of money. we will not be rv'ing anytime soon. call us names if you must, call us softies, call us what you want, but we really love a good shower and a nice bed at the comfort inn.
