jenna, c-ray and i met up at rei in downtown denver for our big trek down to "the springs". it was sparky's birthday and supposed to be a vc training camp. (carol is sick, lisa is prgnant and anne is in heavy taper for states and national cyclocross coming up so thus didn't make it.)

when we got there jenna presented sparky with a bumper we found on the side of the road and thought it would be a smashing touch on her living room wall. after gift giving we decided to get in sparky's car and go do the incline, which is a mile long stair hike.

little did we know the bumper we gave sparky would be foreshadowing the front axel that she bent on her own car sliding on ice. (picture is not her car, but it could have looked like this if it was worse) after tagging the front end on the curb we came back home to think of another training plan.

after much thought and some down time enjoying books from sparky's library, we decided on a walk to the olympic training center.

the big hike.

c-ray makes this girl jump!

the pool looked nice.

after the hike we went to a wonderful lunch (thanks renee) and had great homemade cake (thanks steph).
3 hours later we were back on the road. by this time the roads were much worse and it took 2:45 minutes for me to get my butt back to home base.
what a day. happy birthday sparky.
